Am I the
only person in East Anglia who is pleased to
learn that Steve Wright is going to get his
appeal hearing? From the start of the
investigation I had a big doubt about his guilt
and have been disgusted at the hatred and abuse
which has poured forth out of the press reports
and TV coverage. Why do people
blindly accept what they are told without
wanting to examine the facts? If they look
carefully at this case and the
shortcomings of the trial they could clearly see
that there was NO PROOF Wright was the
killer. DNA is a discredited
method in police prosecutions and only showed
he had touched the girls, as had several other
men. Did they find his footprints near the
bodies? - no. Did he fit the bill as a
serial killer? - no, he is too old and
messy in his life. Was there another more
likely suspect? - yes Were the police
desperate to get a conviction for the murders
quickly? -yes Were the members of the jury in
fear of the people of Ipswich if they failed to
find him guilty? -yes I could go on like this
but I just want to say that the Ipswich court
proceedings left me thinking that the law is
indeed 'an
ass'.

Well if he's guilty then you stand alone, but
if he's proven not to be then justice needs to
be served.

More public (our) money wasted
whilst a murdering scrote with nothing better to
do with his time than sit out the richly
deserved sentence trawls through to the bitter
end of the legal process.
This is the
sort of cr*p we have to live with in a free
society, but don't expect me to be
delighted.
Whose paying his costs? I bet
it isn't him.

The replies
so far are mostly up to the standard of the
usual mindless would-be lynch mob. I'm
hoping that someone is out there who can read
and ALSO think and string together a
few more intelligent ideas .... An appeal is
going to happen whether you like it or
not.

Just because a reply doesn't share
your individual view of the world, doesn't
actually make it any less
intelligent.

Far better
to sort this out now once and for all rather
than find out in ten or twenty years time that
they had the wrong bloke ! Dek.

Well, maybe
I was a bit rude about the comments but I
genuinely don't understand why I see this in
a different light to everyone else? I'm
normally looked upon as a sensible person
(by my friends) but events in my life
have taught me that the police and the courts
sometimes get things very wrong.

I found one good website that supports my own
ideas

The link you give is
to a website that contains an astonishing libel
against a man found innocent by the police. It
is therefore in breach of the forum code of
conduct. The man who is responsible for this
slur on an innocent man is no stranger to the
libel courts himself.

But a jury of his peers who sat
through the whole of the trial did.
I
know whose opinions I feel is likely to be more
accurate.
Whilst you are here, do you
have any views on whether the moon landings were
faked on a Hollywood backlot and the twin towers
demolished by carefully laid explosive charges?
There are people all over the web just as
convinced of these two conspiracies as you are
that this murderer is a lilywhite
innocent.
